Description
Abstract The North Texas GIS Consortium street centerline data was
originally compiled by contractor Woolpert in 1994 for the
Dallas-Ft Worth area in conjunction with the development of digital
orthophotography. The geographic coverage area was periferally
extended in 1995. The data has a positional accuracy of 3.2ft
(RMSE).
Purpose The purpose of the NTGIS Consortium is to establish a single,
consistent and shareable digital base map for the Dallas-Fort Worth area.
The digital orthophotography project provides at a reduced cost to members
and subscribers digital orthophotography and planimetric data such as
street centerline, road edges, railroad and hydrography suitable for
up to 1" = 200 scale mapping.
Supplemental_Information
Procedures_Used Street centerline data was compiled in conjuction
with aerial photography completed by Woolpert (contractor) in March, 1994
with peripheral extensions completed in March, 1995. (See metadata
for digital orthoimagery for complete process description.)
Revisions No revisions to data produced by March 1994 and March 1995 aerial
photography has been made; the data is current as of the most
recent compilation.

Completeness_Report Street centerlines are complete for the geographical area surveyed
as of the date of the aerial photography. All data was visually inspected to ensure no gaps,
inconsistencies in quality or arc misplacements existed in each tile area, between tiles,
or over the larger area.

Horizontal_Positional_Accuracy
Horizontal_Positional_Accuracy_Report: Horizontal positional accuracy is 1.0
meter defined by the root mean square error (RMSE) method. This requires
that two-thirds of all photo-identifiable arc features fall within the stated
accuracy of 1.0 meter and that 90 percent of all arcs must fall within twice
the distance specified (i.e. 2.0 meters). A final inspection and acceptance
process was completed by several North Texas Consortium members.
